How they are made

Butter, time, and patience.

Chocolate chip cookies on white marble, one broken open to show a gooey centerFresh from the oven

More than a dozen treats live on the board, and the list moves with the season and with whatever looks good at the market that week. There is always a vanilla pound cake, always chocolate chip cookies, and always something with fruit in it.

How they are made

Every batter is mixed by hand in small batches, with real butter, real eggs, and vanilla I measure with a spoon instead of a cap. Cakes bake low and slow in one oven, cookies go in and come out in relays, and pie crust rests overnight because it behaves better that way.

Nothing is baked until you ask for it. If something is off the board, it is because the season has passed or the oven is full — and it will come back around.
